Research Opportunities - Advertising for Departments
Many Stanford departments and programs sponsor an undergraduate research program that provides financial support for students to work with Stanford professors on faculty-designed research projects. Programs generally take place over the summer, but many support research during the regular academic year as well.
For departments or programs funded by VPUE we are happy to post links to your department's website where students can apply and learn more about your research opportunities. The student view of our current programs is available via the link below. Website edits pertaining to this page should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Research Opportunities - Advertising for Faculty
Contact your department SSO (Student Services Officer)
Undergraduate Research encourages all faculty who might be seeking student researchers to advertise through their department SSOs. Many times, these individuals have access to multiple student email lists and can assist in finding student researchers specific to an individual field.
For Both Departments and Faculty
Advertise through the Academic Advising Newsletter
The Academic Advising Newsletter is sent weekly during the Fall, Winter, and Spring quarters by all Undergraduate Advising Directors (UADs). The newsletter goes out to every undergraduate student living on and off campus. Weekly submissions are due every Friday by 10:00 AM and will be posted in the following week's newsletter. Submissions should follow the general guidelines as listed below. Please provide information about your opportunity using the online submission form. Approved content will be posted to our blog website.
With the new form, there are a few changes to keep in mind:
- Email submissions will no longer be accepted.
- If you have more than one announcement, they will need to be submitted separately.
- The form and the blog do not currently support graphics, attachments, or fliers.
- We do not accept events run by Stanford student groups or by third parties that are outside of Stanford.
Questions? Please contact the Academic Advising Newsletter Team at email@example.com.
Advertise through SOLO
The SOLO platform is offered through the Office of International Affairs (OIA). SOLO advertises both on-campus and off-campus opportunities. OIA seeks potential users to describe their workflows (i.e. how you announce opportunities, create application forms, collect application, award funding, etc.) to have a better sense of what features may need adjustments (if any) for on-campus projects. If you are interested in advertising your research opportunity through SOLO, please contact Pauline Larmaraud, Associate Director for OIA.
