Frances is a driven student studying Electrical Engineering with an interest in robotics. Frances leads the robotics software team at Stanford and is currently working towards developing a fully autonomous rover. His research interests lie in the area of deep reinforcement learning for robots. As part of the CHARM lab, he helped develop a new method to increase the degrees of freedom of a vine robot, using valves as muscles for self-actuation to help it navigate challenging environments. In his free time, Frances enjoys soccer, board games, running, and reading.
