Mirelys Mendez-Pons

Mirelys is from Yauco and Peñuelas, Puerto Rico and is studying Product Design and Modern Languages. Her research interests are the fields of design, robotics, and bioengineering. Mirelys is particularly interested in physical and UX/UI design, and the potential of robotics to enhance human capabilities and improve our daily lives. Finally, her interest in bioengineering stems from a desire to apply engineering principles to the realm of biology. Beyond research, Mirelys can be found working as a student studio operator with the Stanford Center for Professional Development and as a webpage manager and designer for the non-profit organization, Semilla de Bienestar. She also volunteers as a photographer for the Stanford Daily and the United Nations Association Film Festival (UNAFF).
